The short version
Sassy Litchi is a language-learning app. We need your email to give you an account, we store your conversations so the AI tutor works, and we use a few trusted companies to run the service. We don't sell your data.

We operate Sassy Litchi at sassylitchi.com and app.sassylitchi.com.
What we collect
You give us
- Account: email address and password (passwords are hashed — we never store plain text)
- Learning data: chat messages, scenarios, vocabulary progress, CEFR feedback, language preferences
- Feedback: if you contact us or use the feedback form
You may type personal things in chat. Please don't share anything you wouldn't want stored. We don't ask for sensitive information on purpose.
We collect automatically
- Security data (via Stytch): On login and signup, Stytch collects device and browser signals and your IP address for fraud prevention (see Cookie Policy). This can indicate approximate location (e.g. country or region) from your IP — not precise GPS. We don't use this for advertising.
- Hosting logs: Our infrastructure providers (e.g. Fly.io) may log IP addresses and technical request metadata for security and reliability. We don't store these in your account database.
- Usage metrics: We don't collect product usage analytics today (e.g. which screens you visit or feature funnels). If we add that later, you can opt out in Settings → Privacy.
Payments
If you subscribe or buy credits, Creem processes payment. We don't store your full card number — Creem handles that. See Creem's privacy policy.
Why we use your data

We don't use non-essential analytics today. If we add them later, we'll ask for consent where required and update this page.
Who we share with
We don't sell personal data. We share data with companies that help us operate the service ("processors"):

These providers only process data to deliver the service to us, under contract.
Some providers may process data outside the EU (for example in the US). We rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.
AI models
We send messages to AI providers through OpenRouter and require providers that do not retain or train on your data. Models currently in use:

We may change models over time. This page will be updated accordingly.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records longer for legal or billing reasons.
Your choices
At app.sassylitchi.com/settings you can:
- Download a zip of CSV files with the personal data we store about you (account, learning activity, settings, and billing records)
- Delete your account
- Opt out of non-essential metrics (not collected today; preference is saved for when we offer them)

If you're in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You may lodge a complaint with CNIL (France) or your local supervisory authority at any time, without contacting us first.

Children
Sassy Litchi is not for anyone under 16. Don't sign up if you're under 16.
AI note
Replies are generated by AI and can be wrong. Don't rely on the tutor for legal, medical, or emergency advice.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
